#KC2CHI by Train

Amtrak just set new records for ridership in March of 2013.

@JewforKC rode the train 2 days after Christmas for the 1st time in his adult life.

It was an 8 hour trip from KCY2CHI.

Was this the trip that sent momentum for the record breaking month?

Below are my tweets from the trip:

If you want to see the pictures to some of these tweets, you need to find me on Twitter.

The 7& 1/2 hour of riding on Amtrak from 2 is coming to your twitter feed on Thursday.

The line to get in... Some , but I sent them to the end of the line.

Starting point... Boarding process was easy. AND WE R MOVIN!!

  It's almost 9 .. Nothing to see Breakfast > Taking a Nap ?

Name of the train = from

stopped in Ft Madison, Iowa. Now entertaining Illinois..

Lunch time.. Past the half way point.. Right on time..

  Observation car... Almost to , 1st a stop n . Chugging along..

Only 35 min left on this trip. The was a perfect way to travel for today's jaunt. Thx for following along.

15 min early .. Way to go...

In between some of those tweets, followers began to chime in. It was an excellent day that ended up being a really chill night with some good friends of mine in Chicago.

I wish Kansas City had more rail.  I would take it to Denver.  I would take it to Omaha.  I would take it to Dallas or Austin or Minneapolis.

I can take the train to St.Louis and I'm headed there soon.

I will def try and do a post on my thoughts of #KC in state city rival.

Until next time #Jewfromovement ...

Slave 2 The DVR - Winter / Spring 2013

Slave to the DVR
End of Winter/Early Spring ‘13

Beautiful day in Kansas City on the day the Jayhawks season ended.

What I’m Watcing:

West Wing S3, just finished S1-S2. Leans to the left, which is the way the world is tilting right now. Most issues in the early 2000’s are the same issues 13 years later.

The Good Wife, big fan of this show, but I feel it is flailing. Alicia needs more focus. They are all over the map with her.  Sometimes less is more entertainng.

Southland, really enjoyed watching the road these 4-7 officers have traveled.  They should follow it up with EMT’s or Firepeople. That Boston show looks dull. If Southland
gets cancelled, it will be missed in my household.

The Walking Dead, Guilty F’ing Pleasure. Got to admit.  I was hazy at the beginning about this show, but now, I can’t stop watching.

The Mindy Project, this show has come on & is beginning to hit its stride. Way better then New Girl. If Mindy & Danny are set on a path to get together, it would be way more complicated then living with someone.  IE – Jess & Nick

What I’m Excited For:

GOT – Duh… For the record, I have not read the books. Thinking about holding off and watching a few back to back.

Mad Men – Another Guilty “F’ing” Pleasure, Don Draper, excellent TV character.

Happening & I'm Missing:

Justified, we'll see if I ever get around to watching it.

What I’m Done With:

White Collar, Lost me with Neil & his Dad.

Community, They were great when they were good. When they are bad, wow, they are really bad.

30 Rock, have the 3 last episodes to go. Is it even worth my time at this point?

THE CAPITAL

HOUSE OF CARDS

Not a Spacey fan, but I did give the Live Tweet tonight, a Usual Suspect theme.  “Give me the keys, you fucking cock sucker, fucker.” The lineup line in a classic movie scene.
House of Cards is fresh. Somewhat believable & the other side of Washington DC then Homeland. Robin Penn is an intriguing character. Love the BBQ man from The Wire.

What's funny to me is the lack of reporting on it. Everyone purged & now it is seldomed talked about or discussed. I guess Dateline's Newscycle's and Timeline's don't require a $$ amount to continue reporting on such a show.

I compare House of Cards to MLS.  It's fresh enough, but not tainted by a Network & someone's ego & bias.

So have you finished Season 1?

Comments welcomed about your DVR.

400 Page Views

Nothing to celebrate tonight, opened the blog & noticed I had 400 Page Views.

Are those unique Page Views?

Seriously, if you took the time to read one post, article or recap then I owe you a "real life thanks". If that is a cup of coffee or a random occurence, i will make it work.

I started this blog for the following reasons:

1. To Recap "Breaking Bad"

2. Find my short story "The Flying K"

#2 is INCOMPLETE!

The Poems were off the cuff & On Blast was pre meditated, yet Slave To the DVR became my favorite to write.

Do you like Poems?

Do you want me to Blast more people?

I owe you a "Slave To The DVR".

Poem #4

The Meaning of Clean

What is it like to be clean?

Are you clean when you get out of the shower

Are you clean when you work

What about when you play

Does cleanliness matter

What about taking a shit

Is that considered a form of a shower

Releasing body waste into the free earth

The places it goes

The places it begins

The places it ends up

The animals that survive off of the shit

What is the meaning of clean?

Is the last day that you are clean is when you were born

What about in the sexual content

What about in the business aspect

How many people consider themselves clean

Who are the ones drawing the lines of cleanliness

The word clean means nothing to me

I am always trying to be clean

At the same time I always find my hands a little dirty

In the end the meaning of clean is what you make it out to be

If you believe you are clean then that is all that should matter

Not what someone else thinks

Just what does the meaning of clean mean to you

Poem #2

PREFACE
This poem was written one night when I was reflecting on my past.

Was I under the influence of Marijuana? Possibly.

CLARIFICATION
Put down on paper during the 1st Presidential Debate of the 2012 election.

Is America going to leagalize Marijuana? Possibly.

What was I running from?

The Goverment?

My Future?

The Great West?

Just graduated on time... Who did that in this day and age..

It rained on my graduation day.

What in the name of hell did that mean?

My younger brother was 13 on that day of May 2001.

I did a lot of things before I graduated college.

Dyed my hair. Grew a mustache. Took a girls virginity. Went to Israel. Got stupid drunk. Got stupid stoned.

Mass Communication was at its height...

What was I running to?

Seattle

The Oregon Coast

Portland

#KCMO needs a #SuperBowl

@MayorSlyJames If the #Chiefs organization & #KCMO can handle the #BelcherTragedy , then why can't we be trusted to host a #SUPERBOWL ??

I started with that question on Twitter.

Then I stopped to think about it.  It was not the correct way to display my feelings and sounded a little sharp.

So I thought this would be a far more effective way to communicate that Tweet.

#KCMO handled the All-Star game with class.

I'm sorry to repeat myself, but #KCMO is not a baseball town. It's a football town.

@SaveOurChiefs has more followers then Arrowhead holds. All the baseball writers for the #KansasCityStar don't have as many followers as SaveOurChiefs.

Regardless, the bottom line is it's time for the #NFL to consider #KansasCity as a #SuperBowl location.

Global Warming is here and so the weather is unpredictable.  New York is getting a #SuperBowl and they probably have more days of precipitation then #KCMO does.

In the end, this fan base needs some sign from #Goddell & the League that they value the Kansas City brand and that we are part of the future of the NFL.

S5 - First 8 Recap - BB

Breaking Bad - Season 5 - First 8 Season Recap

This was a very difficult task. Take a TV show u care about and do weekly recaps.

Will I do this for the last 8? Maybe

Was I any good at it? Not really

Do people do this for a living? Yes

The last question is the problem with this idea of doing recaps. Sepinwall, Ryan, Daily Beast, Vulture, EW,  & Uproxx are all very good recaps & are expected to have it up and ready by Monday morning. On the other hand, my recaps have no time expectations. If I read theirs then we might share the same thoughts. At that point because their thought was published first, my thought becomes unoriginal. I'm good with all of that.  That is why my recaps take a little longer and may run together at times. I am doing this for you the reader. Take it for what you want. It's not for everyone. However, you have to know what's going on.

Disclaimer Over - So #jewfrollowers , have my recaps been original? If you enjoy them, please let me know in the comments. That would help me decide if I were to do them next Summer for the Final 8 episodes.

Breaking Bad's Final 8 episodes should be a wild ride. This show is trying to top The Wire or The Sopranos as the best produce TV show post 2001.

The first 8 of the final season was a huge bust!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of these Final 8, there are only 3 worth discussing in the season recap.

Live Free or Die
The "Lost" style Flash Forward with Walt celebrating his 52nd BDay at a random Denny's diner. He meets a guy to buy a large gun. The guy was familiar looking. Hmm..

Dead Freight
Some of the recappers loathed this episode, some liked it. I loved this episode!! It might be my favorite episode in the entire series. It was an instant classic. It had great theater and an unexpected outcome. Robbing a train to make Meth. Classic...

Gliding Over All
The episode where the shit hit the fan. Not sure I buy the last scene. However, Hank was going to find out that "Walt = Heizenberg" , I guess the how is not very important. They needed a cliff hanger for the first eight, so this was the logical leaving point. However, finishing Boardwalk S3, Terence Winter says cliffhangers are a weak way out. Take that BB!! Take that Walking Dead! Take that AMC!

Lydia was a very interesting character. At first, I thought she was dog shit. Then I re-watched a few episodes to better prepare for this recap and she began to grow on me.

The other cliffhanger is Jesse. The last scene between Walt and Jesse was really intense and may lead to Jesse turning on his former partner. Obviously, Hank is going to suspect Jesse as the one who got Walt into the Meth business and may know more about Walt's empire. Jesse is too big of a character to just ride into the sunset.

I believe that these first 8 episodes of Season 5 is the low point of the show. Breaking Bad has had a run of 3 excellent summers. However, as 2012 ends, I can see Breaking Bad's final 8 episodes in the near future.  I am looking forward to Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Downton Abbey Season 3 and Southwoodland before Breaking Bad returns from a "NOT NEEDED" break.

Crap I didn't care about in S5-First 8-BB...
- Skyler's craziness
- Mike's death (yea, he was a character on the show, but he was no Gus)
- Beneke! Again!

Things I would like to see more...
- Gomez's role in the DEA
- Walt Jr's social life - (couldn't hire some teen age dudes and do a few scenes?)
- More Saul
- More Junk Yard owner

The Last 8 Questions of Episodes 40-48

Do you agree that its BULLSHIT what AMC has done by breaking up the last season of the show into a 2 year 16 episode run?
Is everyone going to die?
If not, who survives?
Does Gilligan know how its going to end when he finished "Gliding Over All"?
Did you buy the scene with Hank on the John?
How will these first 8 be viewed down the road?
Will Walt sleep with another women besides Skyler before he dies?
Does Breaking Bad have enough momentum to finish on top?

Thank you for reading.

Until Next Time #Jewfromovement ...

Update 8/2/2013

Here it is..

The Final 8 episodes of Breaking Bad..

1 week away....

Some quick predictions:

Jesse - dead
Todd - dead
Skyler - lives
Maria - lives
Lydia - lives
Gomez - lives
Walt Jr - dies
Hank - (hardest call) lives
Walt's daughter - dead

The man has to lose everything that motivated him to start his crooked ways. Heisenberg will die, Walt will lose both his children & Skyler will go into witness protection. Only thing that makes sense in my head. Walt was/is going to die. That was the whole premise of the show.

IMO Breaking Bad will go out on top. They will not be able to top The Wire, but will end on a higher note then Lost & Sopranos.

I will not be doing a weekly recap this year. Not enough time & I am still waiting for the first comment on this stupid blog.

However, I will do a full breakdown of the final 8 & a series decomposition to discuss the results of what should be an incredibly exciting 8 weeks of television.

BTW, I will not watch Talking Bad unless they have me as a guest.

Until next time #Jewfromovement ...
